Certified Public Accountant (CPA)


TMS Financial is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to join our firm with experience in business tax returns, high net worth individuals, financial review, and business accounting. Our growing team is looking for a candidate who enjoys connecting with clients, managing diverse tasks, has a strong attention to detail and provides the highest level of customer service.


The Ideal Candidate:

  • Has Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Masters degree or equivalent experience preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in public accounting, with a focus on business tax filings and high net worth individuals.
  • Strong knowledge of tax code and financial regulations.
  • Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage) and tax preparation software (e.g., Drake, ProSeries, Lacerte).
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial and tax matters to clients.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple clients and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Experience working with S-Corporations, C-Corporations, Partnerships, and LLCs.
  • Knowledge of estate planning, trust taxation, and wealth preservation strategies.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling.


Responsibilities:

  • Business Tax Preparation & Filing:
    • Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for businesses (corporations, partnerships, LLCs).
    • Ensure compliance with all tax regulations and deadlines.
    • Identify opportunities for tax minimization, credits, and deductions.
  • Tax Planning & Strategy:
    • Develop and implement tax strategies for businesses and high net worth individuals.
    • Provide advice to clients on tax implications of business decisions, mergers, acquisitions, and other transactions.
    • Conduct research on new tax laws and regulations and communicate their impact to clients.
  • Financial Statement Review:
    • Perform financial reviews and provide recommendations to improve financial performance.
    • Assist in preparing, reviewing, and analyzing financial statements, ensuring proper accounting procedures and standards are followed.
    • Provide advisory services on cash flow, budgeting, and financial forecasting.
  • High Net Worth Tax Services:
    • Manage tax planning, estate planning, and wealth management for high-net-worth individuals.
    • Provide tailored financial advice for wealth preservation, tax-efficient investing, retirement planning, and succession planning.
    • Work closely with wealth management teams and other professionals to optimize client financial outcomes.
  • Business Accounting Services:
    • Assist with accounting functions for business clients.
    • Ensure accurate financial records and documentation, performing regular audits as necessary.
    • Provide guidance on financial systems, internal controls, and accounting software tools.
  • Client Relationship Management:
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, offering proactive financial and tax advice throughout the year.
    • Maintain strong relationships with existing clients while identifying opportunities to expand service offerings.
    • Collaborate with clients to understand their financial goals and provide customized solutions.
