Overview
Cardinal Therapy Group is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Part-Time Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will work in an elementary school setting under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist to serving students weekly with physical therapy needs in a collaborative environment. Our experienced Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapists are eager to work together as a team with you to best serve these students' needs!
Responsibilities
- Assist physical therapists in developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans for students.
- Administering therapeutic exercises, modalities and collaborating on equipment and/or accommodation recommendations.
- Monitor student progress and report changes to the supervising therapist.
- Educate students, teaching support staff and their families on treatment plans, home exercises, and recommended strategies.
- Maintain accurate documentation of student treatments and progress notes in compliance with Ohio Department of Education standards.
- Collaborate with the district staff to ensure the highest level of care and efficient communication to benefit the students' overall success.
- Participate in discharge planning to facilitate smooth transitions for students leaving therapy.
Skills
- Proficient knowledge of medical terminology relevant to physical therapy practices.
- Experience in a school setting is highly desirable, however not required. Training is available.
- Strong understanding of human physiology to effectively assist in student treatment plans.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with students, families, and educational teams.
- Keep accurate and up-to-date records of treatment, as well as submit billing in a timely manner.
- Ability to demonstrate empathy and provide compassionate care to diverse student populations.
