JOB DESCRIPTION
The Senior Relationship Manager will providestudents participating in UNCF STEM programs with student support services for their academic and psycho-social well-being. The Senior Relationship Manager will lead the management and coordination of student services and student-oriented projects across the UNCF STEM Scholars Program. This includes the following responsibilities (but not limited to):
- Oversee and manage outreach to students to ensure their well-being and their awareness of specific services available to them on an as needed basis.
- Management and coordination of the development and implementation of student-facing digital platforms that will facilitate student learning and skills development across the various STEM programs.
- Lead quarterly student academic outreach and coordinate and activate student support where necessary.
- Leading the Request for Funding process for scholarship funding verification and dispersal.
- Assist the Director with the preparation of internal and external reports, and where necessary, present and/or provide responses to UNCF staff and/or senior officers.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Survey the landscape to identify best practices for undergraduate programs and services that address the psycho-emotional health of undergraduate students enrolled as STEM majors with a particular emphasis on African American students and students of color on predominantly white/majority campuses.
- Serve as the lead development and implementation of best practices for student success the STEM Scholars program and across all STEM programs. In that role, the Senior Relationship Manager will:
- Conduct iterative assessments through a series of check-ins to gauge students’ academic and non-academic wellness in four dimensions: academic, physical, mental and relational (familial) in advance of critical milestones for college success (e.g., preparing for midterm exams, registering for classes, declaring a major)
- Contribute to the creation of numerous program policies and procedures, specifically those related to Scholars participation in student support services.
- Share best practices and lessons learned with peers and colleagues in the STEM unit and in other programs in S&P to design and support implementation and activation of innovative programs/activities that enhance academic performance, physical, personal and mental wellness, financial literacy and career/professional development for students participating STEM Scholars program and across all UNCF STEM related program areas including bio/life science, computer science and engineering.
- Work collaboratively and individually to develop enhanced curriculum and supplemental academic support for the STEM Scholars program, as well as other STEM programming that helps develop requisite skills for personal and academic success.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Senior Relationship Manager will likely oversee up to two team members within the STEM unit at the Relationship Manager (RM) and/or Program Coordinator (PC) levels, who support the management and operations of direct student services across all programs in the UNCF STEM Scholars Program portfolio.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university required and at least 2-3 years’ experience with an emphasis on program management in student services, leadership, student development, and/or academic advisement.
- Strong background in working within and across sectors with various stakeholders at different levels including HBCU academic leadership and administration, faculty and students.
- Ability to understand UNCF STEM programmatic goals and objectives and align them with various federal policy initiatives across federal agencies to maximize outcomes and impact for UNCF member institutions and HBCUs more broadly.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of information and technology associated with online learning communities.
- Knowledge in establishing and leveraging social-media platforms.
- Ability to assess programs associated with college student services.
- Ability to build strong working relationships and deal effectively with multiple constituencies.
- Ability to communicate and collaborate with diverse racial/ethnic communities.

Salary Range: $76,700.00 per year (Salary is commensurate with experience.) This is a hybrid role: 4 days on-site and 1-day remote per week, located in UNCF’s Washington DC Headquarters building.
