A full-time registered nurse position is available to provide essential healthcare services within a high school setting located in Orange, NJ. This contract role spans a full semester, from the start date as soon as possible through June 26, 2026, requiring 35 hours per week onsite. The position serves the entire school building, offering district-wide support with four openings available.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to students in a school environment
- Manage and assess student health concerns, emergency situations, and chronic conditions
- Collaborate with school staff and families to promote student wellness and safety
- Maintain accurate health records and documentation
- Support health education initiatives and preventive care programs within the school
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Active and valid school nurse licensure/certifications for the state of New Jersey
- Prior experience working as a registered nurse specifically within school settings; clinical-only experience is not sufficient
- Compliance with district and agency fingerprinting requirements
- Current TB test and physical examination required
- Ability to work onsite throughout the contract term
