Job Title: Senior Accountant

Location: Golden Valley, MN (This is a fully on-site role requiring onsite presence in MN daily – only local residents of Minnesota and Western Wisconsin will be eligible for consideration)

Compensation: $70,000–$80,000/yr

Position Summary

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to support our client’s accounting operations during a period of transition. This role will be heavily involved in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities and will require a high level of independence, attention to detail, and accountability. The ideal candidate will have a strong general ledger experience, understanding of fixed assets, and advanced Excel skills. They should be able to thrive in a fast-paced, direct environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support all month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities (10-day close cycle)
  • Prepare, post, and review journal entries, accruals, and roll forwards
  • Perform detailed general ledger reconciliations and resolve variances
  • Manage fixed asset accounting, including a high volume of manual entries
  • Utilize advanced Excel skills for reconciliations, analysis, and reporting
  • Follow and execute established SOPs for accounting entries and close processes
  • Collaborate closely with the accounting team to meet tight deadlines
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and future automation

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Public Accounting background strongly preferred
  • Strong experience with month-end and year-end close
  • Heavy general ledger and journal entry experience
  • Advanced Excel skills with strong attention to detail
  • Fixed asset accounting experience
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction
