About the Job:

Western Management is seeking a Staff Accountant who will work to support the accounting, financial reporting, and other business analyst functions for our family of companies. This role will report directly to our Vice President of Finance and have the opportunity to partner with the rest of our experienced leadership team.

Prerequisites for the Role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related discipline.
  • Entry level understanding of GAAP accounting
  • Ability to be adaptive to frequent changes in priorities, organization, and strategy.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, troubleshoot and problem solve.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of team.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and have a solid understanding of Microsoft Excel.

Key Responsibilities of the Role:

  • Work directly with our Vice President of Finance to deliver on all accounting and reporting aspects for each business in our family of companies.
  • Assist in all monthly close cycles, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with GAAP standards.
  • Assist business teams with A/P and A/R functions and ensure both are completed in a timely manner.
  • Maintain and reconcile significant transaction cycles, such as cash, fixed assets, inventory and accruals
  • Ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, and resolving discrepancies.
  • Prepares and records assets, liabilities, revenue, and expense entries for daily, monthly, quarterly and annual periods.
  • Maintain and reconcile, CIP activities for appropriate in-service changes and tracking
  • Assist in cross-department requests and needs related to financial information.
  • Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity.
  • In coordination and collaboration with the leadership team, enforce strong internal processes, and controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflows.
  • Execute ad-hoc financial/quantitative analysis and various requests in support of the operations team.
  • Provide administrative support as needed to both the HR and operations teams.
  • Other duties as assigned to support the leadership team.
