Job DescriptionSalary:

Primary Responsibilities

The safety manager is responsible for preventing workplace incidents, promoting health and safety awareness, and educating team members.

  • Embraces and emphasizes the safety values of the company.
  • Proactively ensures preventive measures and effective safeguards are developed for facility equipment.
  • Identifies and resolves employee safety and environmental issues.
  • Facilitates the investigation of serious injuries and incidents.
  • Oversees inspections of all safety equipment in the facility.
  • Ensures all required safety training and reporting are performed in accordance with company and OSHA requirements.
  • Empowers others to action in safety using data trends from incidents, near misses, and safety audits.
  • Facilitates safety training, including new team member onboarding.

Job Qualifications

A willingness to learn and grow is critical for this position.

  • 5+ years of safety experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelors degree in industrial technology, Behavioral Health Science, or other closely related degree.
  • Professional certification or ability to obtain within 1 year (CSP, SMS, COSM, etc.)
  • Knowledge and ability to comprehend and apply government safety rules, including OSHA and NIOSH protocols to a manufacturing environment
  • Capable of facility safety and environmental audits, root-cause analyses, and group problem-solving
  • Capable of effectively influencing front-line management to enact safety programming / processes to achieve an accident-free environment.
