Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Pediatric ICU Registered Nurse (PICU RN) to join a high-acuity pediatric critical care team. This role is ideal for clinicians with strong critical care skills who thrive in a fast-paced, trauma-capable hospital environment and are committed to delivering exceptional pediatric patient care.

Shift Details

• Shift: Night Shift

• Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts

• Hours: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

• Weekends: Every other weekend

• Holidays: As required

Contract Details

• Assignment Length: 13 weeks

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive critical care nursing to pediatric ICU patients

• Perform thorough patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care

• Monitor and manage critically ill pediatric patients in a high-acuity environment

• Collaborate with physicians, multidisciplinary teams, and families to ensure optimal outcomes

• Accurately document care and clinical findings in the electronic medical record

• Deliver patient care with minimal orientation while maintaining high safety and quality standards

Required Qualifications

• Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license

• Minimum 3 years of recent PICU experience in a Level I or Level II trauma center

• BLS certification (must be current or able to recertify)

• Strong pediatric critical care assessment and clinical judgment skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using EPIC Electronic Medical Records

• Prior experience in pediatric trauma or high-acuity ICU settings
