Clinical Leader for NRC: Coordinates work activities for the NRC staff as it relates to job responsibilities of the Patient Service Representatives (PSR’s) and Medical Assistant (MA’s)

Job Description/Summary


Non-Exempt:

The Clinical Lead / NRC supports the Neil Riordan Center Team by demonstrating initiative and competence contributing to the overall quality, excellence and patient satisfaction of the center.


Works under the direction of the Senior Practice Manager and Medical Director of the NRC.

The Clinical Lead supports or directly responsible for the following:

(Follows department operating procedures, actively participates in collaborative environments, works cross-departmentally and out of normal scope of practice when needs arises

  1. Actively engage in professional growth activities and events to advance inclusive excellence by being a lifelong learner and innovator.

  4. Proactively manage patient flow, minimizing wait times and ensuring a smooth, efficient experience.


  1. Develop and implement strategies to enhance the patient’s experience, consistently seeking opportunities for improvement.


  1. Ensuring the front desk area is stocked with all marketing materials


  1. Coordinates staff (PSR & MA) scheduling and daily assignments



Key Performance Requirements / Indicators:

  1. Manage a Patient Appreciation Program, including sending branded university gifts for birthdays, holidays, and other special occasions


  1. Coordinate Care and manage appointments between patients and healthcare providers.


  1. Makes follow-up calls within 48 hours after patient procedures


  1. Contact former patients that have not been seen in 6 months from time of procedure(s) and communicate with the attending physician to schedule follow-up appointments.


  1. Develop and implement a process to provide personally signed notes signed by physicians and sent to patients within 5 days of procedures


  1. Patient Education: Answer general questions regarding procedures and providing appropriate resources to patients.


Experience Required

  1. Certification from an accredited Medical Assistant program
  2. Associate degree (preferred)
  3. 3 years - using Microsoft office suite, multiple calendar management
  4. 2 years- experience with electronic medical records
  5. 2 years – Communicating direction from leadership to outside sources


Education Requirements

Minimum Education

  1. /Certifications: Certification from an accredited Medical Assistant program
  2. Associate degree and/or bachelor’s degree in field related to area of assignment.



Working Environment

  1. Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extensive periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse. Required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work. Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling of up to 25 pounds. Regular activities require the ability to quickly change priorities which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts. Communicate to perform essential functions.


  1. As a Clinical working lead is responsible for all related work activities and daily assignments related to the Job responsibilities of the Medical Assistants and Patient Service Representatives in the NRC.


  1. Assures and monitors customer service initiatives to ensure that all patients receive exceptional care. Communicates with the staff and physicians to assure compliance with these initiatives.
