Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A part-time opportunity is available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to support a PreK classroom in Lincoln, NE. This position requires onsite presence and offers a contract through May 22, 2026, starting as soon as possible. The role is perfect for those passionate about facilitating communication and inclusion in educational settings.

Responsibilities include interpreting sign language to aid communication between students and educators, ensuring an inclusive learning environment for young learners hard of hearing or deaf. The interpreter will work 3.75 hours per day, focusing specifically on the needs of a PreK classroom.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in educational interpreting, particularly in early childhood or PreK environments.
  • Valid Sign Language Interpreter certification or licensure.
  • Willingness to work onsite within the school setting.
  • Candidates holding a provisional license are encouraged to apply; those with an EIPA score under 4.0 will be considered.
  • Strong understanding of sign language communication and the ability to facilitate comprehension for non-hearing students.
