Place of Performance-Federal Medical Center (FMC) Health Services Department 42 Patton Road Devens, Massachusetts 01434

Schedule of Performance-These services will be required five (5) days per week, eight (8) one (1) hour sessions per day, Monday through Friday (except Federal holidays), normally between the hours of 6:00 am and 4:30 pm, with a thirty (30) minute unpaid lunch period, (if applicable). The medical assistant’s schedule shall not exceed forty (40) hours per week per medical assistant. The Health Services Administrator (HSA) or Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) will be responsible for defining each weekly schedule.

Education and Experience- shall possess the necessary skills, abilities, and credentials to perform professional services of a Medical Assistant. All below listed information shall be provided prior to being accepted for work at FMC Devens. The Medical Assistant assigned to FMC Devens by the contractor must possess the following qualifications:
•High school diploma or equivalent (GED).•Completion of a Medical Assistant training program from an accredited institution preferred.
•1 year of experience in a healthcare setting preferred. Certification preferred: CMA, RMA, NCMA, or CCMA. CPR/BLS certification required.

The Medical Assistant shall perform Medical Assistant duties, including but not limited to:
• Taking patient medical histories and preparing medical data for provider visits.
• Preparing pertinent forms for physicians and/or Advanced Practice Providers.
• Maintaining office and patient care-related supplies.
• Performing and recording patient vital signs in the electronic medical record.
• Filing/scanning medical records and providing patient education.
• Assisting with initial patient triage and chronic care clinics.
• Preparing exam rooms and assisting in minor surgical and diagnostic procedures.
• Assisting providers during examinations by handing instruments and performing basic procedures.
• Answering phones and managing patient requests.
• Educating patients on basic health conditions and treatment plans.
• Scheduling patient appointments.
