Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A 1099 contract opportunity is available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter specializing in telehealth services within a school setting. This role supports remote communication needs, facilitating effective interaction between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and educators.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret spoken language into American Sign Language (ASL) and vice versa during telehealth sessions.
- Ensure clear and accurate communication between students, teachers, and healthcare providers.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism across all interactions.
- Collaborate with educational staff to accommodate diverse communication needs.
- Document sessions as required for compliance and record-keeping.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language with demonstrated interpreting experience.
- Familiarity with telehealth platforms and virtual communication technologies.
- Previous experience working in educational environments preferred.
