Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Experience working with children or youth in an educational or care-giving setting
- Previous paraprofessional experience is valued, but strong candidates with a passion for working 1:1 with students are encouraged to apply
- Ability to collaborate with classroom teachers and support individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliable, patient, and adaptable; able to support diverse student needs
- High school diploma or equivalent required
Key Responsibilities:
- Support a single student throughout the school day, providing assistance with academic tasks, classroom participation, and social interactions
- Reinforce instructional material and classroom routines under the guidance of teaching staff
- Help promote independence and self-advocacy skills for the student
- Maintain a supportive and safe environment for learning and growth
- Communicate regularly with teachers and staff regarding student progress and needs
- Assist with accommodations and modifications according to the student’s plan
