Position: We’re looking for an Analyst III within NORTHCOM & Western Hemisphere regions to support a government contract with the Defense Security and Cooperation Agency (DSCA) and the Irregular Warfare Center (IWC). As an Analyst III, take ownership of new research and analysis projects. Conduct early-stage project alignment with Irregular Warfare Center (IWC)’s mission and vision. Organize and execute ground-up research and propose reporting options to IWC leadership. Serve as peer leader in oversight of Intern and Analyst I/IIs’ research and reporting and monitor for alignment with project requirements. Make recommendations to Manager of Analysis and Products and Center leadership on additional projects and research areas as appropriate. Apply subject matter expertise on irregular warfare, strategic competition, geopolitics, NORTHCOM and Western Hemisphere issues, and other topics of relevance. Review and edit Center publications. Professionally communicate with Center clients and stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Rapidly develop familiarity with new topic areas.
- Apply newly developed familiarity, existing subject matter expertise, and ongoing awareness of geopolitical events to organize and execute detailed research and analysis plans for assigned topics.
- Execute OSINT and SOCMINT research and produce analytic works utilizing OSINT and SOCMINT tools, methodologies, and tradecraft.
- Gather and manipulate large amounts of unstructured data.
- Propose analytical lines of effort and analytical products in line with furthering the IWC’s mission and priority areas.
- Serve as a reviewer of other analysts’ products.
- Serve as a reviewer and subject matter expert on externally submitted products.
- Deputize roles, chains of commands, and responsibilities of the Manager, Analysis and Products, and the Principal Subject Matter Expert, as needed.
- Conduct effective time and resource management in support of multiple projects (research and analysis, editing, and additional as assigned) with overlapping timeframes and deadlines.
- Present and conduct briefings on irregular warfare-related topics on behalf of the IWC.
- Maintain professional relationships with external stakeholders, e.g. academia, foreign government representatives, and U.S. interagency personnel.
- Perform other duties, as assigned.
Requirements:
Desired Experience & Expertise:
- Master’s Degree in related field plus seven or more years of professional work history.
- Three or more years SME in IW and work within USG.
- Small team and peer leadership experience.
- Experience with policy, research, and analysis; experience with operational application of policy, research, or analysis is a plus.
- Experience with both all-source intelligence and open-source intelligence tools, methodologies, and tradecraft.
- Subject matter expertise in relevant topical areas and particular Areas of Responsibilities (AOR), in NORTHCOM & Western Hemisphere.
- Experience with analytical writing; experience with editing analytical writing is a plus.
- Experience with client and stakeholder engagement.
- Experience working in or with the Department of Defense, preferably within special operations.
- Experience working in or with Interagency Organizations.
- Current Secret clearance.
- Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Experience:
- Current TS clearance.
- Reside within one hour of NORTHCOM HQ.

Compensation & Benefits
Compensation varies based on factors such as location, experience, and skill set. For positions based in California, Colorado, D.C., Maryland, New York, or Washington, the salary range is $100,000 – $170,000 (if annualized).
