Qualifications
Required Education:
- Degree in Radiologic Technology, Radiation Therapy, or related field.
- Degree programs in Radiation Therapy must be accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology in Radiation Oncology.
Preferred Education: None.
Required Experience: 2 (Two) to 3 (Three) years’ experience as a Radiation Therapist.
Preferred Experience: 1 (One) to 2 (Two) years’ experience as a supervisor in a Radiation Oncology department.
Required Certification/License/Registry:
- Active State of Florida Department of Health certification as a Radiation Therapy Technologist.
- Active certification as a Radiation Therapist through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
Preferred Certification/License/Registry: None.
Responsibilities
Your Role:
- Under the direction of the department director: Maintains policies, procedures, and systems within the technical area to comply with hospital, ASTRO, ACRO, and JCAHO standards by identifying problems and taking corrective action.
- Acts as a liaison between radiation therapists and other work groups both within and outside the radiation oncology department.
Reports To: Assistant Group Practice Admin of the Radiation Oncology department.
Supervises: Radiation Therapists
