Under the supervision of the Senior Genetic Counselor, the\nGenetic Counseling Assistant is responsible for facilitating the care of\ngenetics patients seen in various Clinics at UCLA Health including ATLAS\nClinic. They are an integral part of the Genetics team and contribute to the\nmanagement of diverse aspects of the service, including the coordination of\ncare for patients, optimization of clinic and operational workflows, and\nworking collaboratively with the team to create a patient-centered and administratively\neffective environment.

Hourly Salary Range: $30.36 - $43.49

Qualifications

Required:

• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication\n(both verbal and written) skills
• Ability to analyze information and situations, prioritize\ntasks, develop solutions and make recommendations
• Ability to use good judgment and work independently, with\nlittle supervision, and in a team setting
• Ability to develop and maintain effective working\nrelationships across the healthcare system
• Ability to adapt to an ever-changing, fast-paced\nenvironment
• Knowledge and abilities essential to the successful\nperformance of the duties assigned to the position
• Ability to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor in interactions with patients, UCLA Health faculty and employees, and outside\nlaboratories/healthcare teams
• Required to comply with UCLA Health Standards and is\nsensitive to the needs of patients, staff, and providers at all times.
• Strong computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office\nsoftware, including: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Preferred:

• Bachelor’s degree in\nbiological/health sciences
• Experience with EPIC\nelectronic medical record application, File Maker Pro
• Leadership/management\nexperience
• Ability to speak Spanish
