Twin City Staffing is looking for an SMT Operator / AOI Technician in Plymouth, MN! This role is perfect for someone detail-oriented, technically skilled, and experienced with both SMT and AOI equipment. You’ll help assemble and inspect printed circuit boards (PCBs) efficiently and accurately while maintaining high-quality standards. Be part of a fast-paced electronics manufacturing team!
Location: Plymouth, MN
Wage: Up to $24/hour, depending on experience
Hours: Monday – Thursday, 6:30 AM – 4:00 PM; Friday, 7:00 AM – 11:00 AM

Duties of the SMT operator / AOI technician
- Set up, program, and operate SMT machines
- Load and verify SMT feeders, components, and programs
- Perform first-article inspections to ensure correct component placement
- Operate AOI equipment to inspect PCB assemblies for defects, missing components, and polarity issues
- Review and validate flagged defects for accuracy
- Monitor machine operation, adjust settings, and troubleshoot minor equipment issues
- Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and production staff to resolve issues
- Follow all ESD, safety, and cleanliness protocols
Requirements of the SMT operator / AOI technician
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical or vocational training a plus)
- 1–3 years of experience operating SMT or electronics assembly equipment
- Experience with AOI or reflow oven profiling
- Ability to read assembly drawings, bills of materials, and work instructions
- Familiarity with ESD procedures and IPC standards
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies
- IPC-A-610 certification or equivalent
