Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical/Surgical position at a short-term acute care hospital, requiring a valid MO or compact RN license and a minimum of 2 years of experience.
Details
- Work in the Medical/Surgical unit of a 110-bed short-term acute care hospital
- General medical and surgical patient population
- Patient ratio of 1:5-6
- Night shift schedule (7p–7:30a, 3x12-hour shifts)
- Every third weekend rotation required
- Holiday rotation based on department needs
- Floating required to other units including surgical and telemetry, as well as to a sister facility (Progress West) as needed
- Block scheduling is not available
- Charting performed in Epic (experience required)
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active MO RN license or compact RN license valid in MO required at time of consideration
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg RN experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Charge nurse experience and chemotherapy administration experience are preferred skills
- Some orientation sessions will take place on weekdays due to limited weekend class availability
- RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract; no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
- Travelers may work at this facility for up to 18 months, after which a 3-month break in service is required
- Former permanent employees of any BJC facility must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
