Minimum 1+ years Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist experience and ARRT certification required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A specialized opportunity is available for a skilled Imaging - IR Technician to support a Level III Trauma Center recognized with Magnet Designation and a Comprehensive Stroke Center in Milwaukee, WI. This contract role is based in a fast-paced, high-acuity Cath Lab environment performing 24-40 adult cases daily, focusing strictly on the Cath Lab portion of the interventional department.
Responsibilities include assisting with a wide variety of cardiac catheterization proceduresdiagnostic, interventional, right and left heart catheterizations, STEMI/NSTEMI management, CTO intervention, valvuloplasty, biopsies, atherectomies, staged PCI, and use of assist devices like IABP and Impella. Peripheral diagnostic and interventional cases, including fistulograms, are also part of the workload. Experience with hybrid cases such as TAVRs is preferred but not required.
The position requires the ability to scrub, pan, and assist with conscious sedation and drip management for RNs and to provide direct cath lab support for RTRs. Collaboration with permanent staff, transporters, housekeeping, and a multi-disciplinary team including 24/7 cardiology and hospitalist coverage ensures comprehensive patient care.
Key Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of cath lab/interventional radiology experience
- Valid Wisconsin state license for RTRs, BLS and ACLS certifications are required
- RN applicants must hold BLS, ACLS, and preferably NIHSS certification
- RCIS certification preferred for RTRs
- Ability to work 8- or 12-hour shifts, including some weekend and call rotations with a 30-minute response time
- Familiarity with EPIC, Alaris pumps, GE C-arms, and other specialized cath lab equipment is advantageous
