Our Location
Energy Trust provides a range of work location options, including remote, hybrid and in-office work. This position will represent Energy Trust in public settings and potentially at community events. We are open to candidates who live throughout Oregon and Washington. The Brand Marketing Specialist would be expected to report to the office on a quarterly basis, at minimum.
What We’re Looking For:
The Brand Marketing Specialist is responsible for developing, managing and delivering Energy Trust brand marketing products in support of organizational marketing goals and enhancing brand recognition and trust among the customers and communities we serve.
The person in this position will be a skilled writer and copy editor with experience managing a variety of marketing projects, tasks, and deadlines, including synthesizing technical and complex content into communications for a variety of audiences while ensuring consistent alignment with brand standards and business objectives. They will have excellent critical thinking, judgement, and problem-solving skills. They will thrive in a fast-paced work environment and be able to juggle multiple competing priorities while prioritizing project deliverables.
The person in this role will be responsible for managing brand marketing and communications resources and services delivered by the Communications and Customer Service (CCS) group. The individual in this position supports Energy Trust marketing and communications initiatives and brand content for public relations, blogs, outreach, and web. This individual will help develop the strategy for and own the execution of brand social media, producing monthly and quarterly reporting, and participating in cross-functional social media meetings to ensure alignment across the organization.
The Brand Marketing Specialist works closely with staff and contractors in marketing, communications, customer service, programs, and other business units to reach and serve customers and stakeholders through online and social media, advertising, and outreach activities.
Attention to detail, the ability to work independently and commitment to quality are required. This individual will work as a team with the Sr. Brand Marketing Specialist, Brand Manager, Communications Team, Web Team, and Energy Program marketing staff. This individual reports to the Brand Manager.
This position is expected to report to the Portland office quarterly at a minimum for all staff and other in-person meetings.

What You’ll Do:
- Manage and support brand marketing and communications initiatives and customer experience projects.
- Use standard project management techniques, including project planning, developing project schedules, meeting deadlines, communication with internal project team members and external vendors and resolving issues to keep projects on course.
- Develop, write, edit, and deliver Energy Trust brand communications, including blogs, social media, newsletters, web copy, presentations, press releases, fact sheets, case studies and other marketing projects.
- Responsible for review of marketing materials. Feedback provided should ensure complex technical information is clear and actionable and that materials meet brand guidelines and quality criteria.
- Support execution of brand public relations strategy and collaborate with the Brand Manager.
- Participate on cross-functional teams for organizational initiatives and program-related customer experience projects.
- Utilize analytics to evaluate and plan social media marketing activities, document their effectiveness, and implement recommendations for improvements.
- Deliver high-quality program and organizational information for public presentations as requested.
- Document processes, decisions, and meetings.
- Provide feedback on Energy Trust brand and style guidelines to ensure clear, current, and concise direction that is actionable for contractors. Support brand training for staff and program management contractors.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

- This position may procure and manage the work of external contractors.
Requirements
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or related field or equivalent professional experience.
- 3-5 years of progressively responsible experience in marketing or other related functions.
- Strong writing, editing and verbal communications skills and experience. Experience with copy editing, enforcing brand guidelines, and managing social media account(s) content. Writing sample(s) are required as part of the application process.
- Experience with automated marketing platforms, analytics tools, and digital content strategy a plus. Experience working with creative agencies or teams preferred.
- Demonstrated project management skills, including the ability to prioritize, organize and plan for effective development and delivery of multiple projects. Strong time management, problem-solving, issue resolution, and collaboration skills are also necessary.
- Strong knowledge of MS Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); SharePoint, content management systems (CMS) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) experience a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to think and communicate creatively and strategically, including experience conveying technical information.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities. Must be able to interact with a diverse workforce and be comfortable working in culturally diverse settings and groups.
