Job Description
We are a local recycling company looking for a Class A or Class B truck driver to transport scrap metal to and from our customers. This is a local job with nights and weekends off.
Responsibilities
- Transport scrap metals to and from customers
- Service industrial account gondolas, roll-off boxes, and lugger boxes
- Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance
- Planned routes and meet delivery schedules
- Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
- Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
- Collect and verify delivery and pickup instructions and materials
- Report defects, accidents or violations
Skills
- Proven work experience as a truck driver in the scrap metal recycling industry is a plus
- Applicable End Dump/Roll off experience preferred
- Knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
- No recent moving or driving violations
- Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc)
- Valid truck driving license Class A or Class B
