Somos Destinations – A rapidly growing hospitality division that manages various brew pubs, tap rooms and boutique motels including The Zed, Shifters Bar, Humdinger Pizza, Hollywood Q all located in Portland OR. Imperial Inn, Monterey Motel and The El Vado Motel located in Albuquerque NM.
Rotator Beverage – Brewery operations in Portland, OR and Albuquerque, NM that produce various brands of craft beer including Ascendant, Zoiglhaus and Ponderosa Brewing. Distilled spirits operations include Ponderosa Spirits in Albuquerque, NM.

As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced Corporate Senior Accountant to join our finance team and play a key role in managing our financial operations.
Position Summary
The Senior Commercial Real Estate Accountant will oversee essential accounting functions, including cash reconciliations, multi-entity intercompany accounting, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial reporting. This role requires a deep understanding of commercial real estate accounting and industry-specific financial practices. The ideal candidate will have intermediate Excel skills, strong written and oral communication abilities, and keen attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Reporting

Processing month-end close entries, review of monthly operational activity, and cash management

Publishing financial reporting packages that include P&L review analysis and quarterly Budget vs. Actual reports with Property Management Team and Owners

Work closely with PMI team on processing monthly rent roll, tenant ledger, accounts receivable aging, delinquency reports, and accounts payable for month-end close

Perform annual Common Area Maintenance calculations for various properties

Maintain monthly balance sheet reconciliations for Property Holding Companies

Assist and manage in new commercial real estate project setup, new tenant lease schedules, delinquency reporting, and financial reporting

Assist in developing and maintaining accounting procedures (i.e. month-end checklists, internal controls, and GAAP).

Implementation and utilizing existing accounting system to scale the commercial real estate portfolio for automation, financial reporting, and cohesiveness.

Cash & Balance Sheet Management

Manage cash flow processes to support project funding and operational needs.

Oversee bank reconciliations, ensuring discrepancies are resolved promptly.

Maintain balance sheet integrity, ensuring timely and accurate reconciliations.
Process Improvement & Collaboration
-
Identify and implement efficiencies in financial reporting and accounting processes to improve accuracy and reduce reporting timelines.

Collaborate with finance, development, and asset management teams to support strategic financial planning.
Qualifications & Skills
Required:
-
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
-
5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in commercial real estate, real estate development and property management.

Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting principles and real estate-specific financial reporting.

Strong analytical skills needed for analyzing and reconciling accounts.

Expertise in cash and balance sheet reconciliations.

Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including proficiency with formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.

Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) for effective interaction with internal teams, external stakeholders, and investors.

Ability to multi-task and work independently while meeting deadlines. Must be able to adapt and prioritize tasks.
Preferred:

CPA or progress toward CPA certification.

Experience with real estate accounting software (e.g., RealPage, Sage, Yardi, MRI, or similar platforms).

Prior experience working with real estate development firm and/or property management
