Provide specialized nursing care in a high-acuity Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) setting, supporting critically ill patients who require expert cardiac care. This contract position based in West Jordan, UT, offers an opportunity to work with a dynamic healthcare team dedicated to excellence in patient outcomes and advanced cardiac procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive critical care nursing to CVICU patients using advanced clinical skills.
- Manage complex patient cases including those requiring rapid sequence intubations, central line and arterial line placements, bronchoscopy assistance, chest tube management, and ventilator support.
- Administer and monitor vasopressors and implement restraint protocols as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation utilizing EPIC electronic health records.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and support staff to ensure optimal patient care.
- Float within designated inpatient areas such as the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or serve as a sitter when required.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current Utah Registered Nurse (RN) license required at time of application.
- Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience preferred; strong cardiac ICU experience with at least 1 year considered.
- Proficient with ICU-level procedures including ventilator management and invasive line placements.
- ACLS certification is mandatory.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented and fast-paced environment.
- Outgoing personality with strong communication skills and adaptability.
Schedule:
- Straight night shifts or a 50/50 rotation schedule.
- Three weekend shifts required within a four-week period.
- On-call duties may be assigned.
