About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our leadership team as an Education Coordinator / Infection Preventionist. This is a highly impactful role where you will shape clinical excellence, lead staff development, and drive infection prevention standards across the facility.
You will play a key role in building a strong, confident nursing team while ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Lead new employee orientation and ensure smooth onboarding for nurses and CNAs
- Develop and deliver engaging staff education and training programs
- Conduct competency assessments for nursing staff at hire, annually, and as needed
- Perform daily clinical rounds to identify training needs and support staff performance
- Design and support the facility’s annual nursing education plan (non-eLearning)
- Lead and implement the Infection Prevention & Control Program
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and long-term care regulations
- Promote a culture of patient safety, quality care, and continuous improvement
What We’re Looking For
- Active RN license in good standing (Virginia Department of Health Professions)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in long-term care (LTC/SNF preferred)
- Prior experience in nursing leadership, education, or infection control
- Strong clinical background, including IV therapy skills
- Solid understanding of CMS and regulatory compliance in long-term care
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and documentation systems
- Strong communication, leadership, and training abilities
