Position Summary:
Albright College seeks an experienced, solutions-focused professional to serve as the Director of Advancement Operations. This individual will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for Advancement Services, ensuring the integrity, efficiency, and effectiveness of the College’s fundraising operations. The Director will oversee data management, reporting and analytics, gift processing, prospect research, and advancement technology systems to support fundraising goals and donor engagement.
The ideal candidate is highly analytical, collaborative, and committed to strengthening Advancement’s infrastructure through strong processes, data governance, and customer-focused service to campus partners and donors.
Key Responsibilities:
Advancement Operations Leadership
- Oversee daily operations for data management, reporting, gift processing, and records maintenance.
- Establish and maintain data governance standards, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with College and industry policies.
- Serve as a strategic partner to frontline fundraisers, providing insights, tools, and operational support.
- Lead the effort with donation page creation and event reporting.
Data Management & Reporting
- Manage the Advancement CRM (Slate) and related systems to ensure reliable and accessible data.
- Oversee production of accurate and timely reports for campaign progress, annual giving, pipeline development, and donor trends.
- Develop custom dashboards and reporting tools for Advancement leadership and stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with IRS regulations, and internal data policies.
Gift Processing & Donor Record Integrity
- Supervise accurate and timely gift entry, receipting, and acknowledgement.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with IRS guidelines and donor intent.
- Partner with Finance on reconciliation, monthly audit requirements, and process improvements.
Prospect Research & Portfolio Management
- Oversee prospect research and prospect management systems that support major and principal gift fundraising.
- Guide development officers in portfolio structure, assignment, and movement strategies.
- Maintain processes for prospect identification, wealth screening, and pipeline reporting.
Technology, Systems, & Innovation
- Evaluate and implement technology solutions to improve operational efficiency and donor experience.
- Partner with IT on integrations, security, and system upgrades.
Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with colleagues across Advancement, Finance, Communications, and campus departments to ensure cohesive donor stewardship, policy alignment, and operational support.
- Train staff on systems, data policies, and operational best practices.
- Provide guidance on annual and campaign planning through data-driven insights.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in advancement services, development operations, or related fields.
- Strong proficiency with fundraising CRMs (experience with Slate is preferred).
- Demonstrated experience with data management, reporting, and analytics.
- Knowledge of industry standards for gift processing, donor records, and compliance requirements.
- Exceptional organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to lead teams, manage multiple projects, and foster collaborative relationships across campus.
- High level of technical aptitude and comfort with learning new systems.
