Pharmacy Technician Job Details:
Schedule: 9:00pm - 07:30am (Days vary) - 7 on 7 off
Location: Austin, TX
Temporary to hire
Starting Pay Rate: $33.46 hour + (based on experience)

Pharmacy Technician Responsibilities:
- Assist pharmacists with the preparation, compounding, repackaging, filling, and delivery of medications in a hospital setting.
- Support dispensing activities for patients across all age groups (pediatric through adult).
- Assist with the procurement, storage, record keeping, and distribution of controlled substances in compliance with regulations.
- Enter and verify patient information (diagnosis, weight, allergies, body surface area) accurately in the pharmacy computer system to support appropriate dosing.
- Prepare sterile products using proper aseptic technique and infection control standards.
- Complete annual aseptic technique and infection control recertification with a minimum score of 90%.
- Ensure medications prepared are accurate and verified by a pharmacist, maintaining a high standard of dispensing accuracy.
- Perform batch, medication, and prescription order entry with demonstrated competence.
- Maintain adequate inventory of medications and supplies in collaboration with Pharmacy Support Services.
- Follow formulary and non-formulary procedures, including proper labeling, dilution, and expiration dating.
- Obtain required pharmacist initial and final checks in accordance with department standards.
Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent, required.
- Registered Pharmacy Technician with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy (RPHT-TX) or Pharmacy Intern license (PHAR INT).
- CPHT (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board) preferred.
Job Requirements:
- MUST have 2+ years of current experience (Required).
- MUST have IV certification and recent clean room experience.
- Knowledge of hospital and departmental standards for handling pharmaceuticals.
- Strong math, reading, and communication skills.
- Ability to operate equipment used in the preparation of sterile products.
- Ability to follow detailed procedures and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
