About Us:

Nammo Composite Solutions is an engineering and composite manufacturing company with more than 30 years of operation. Our facility is in downtown Salt Lake City, Utah.

Job Summary:
As a Metrology Technician, you would be responsible for conducting inspections and have the ability for in-depth technical measurement knowledge to control processes and solve problems. The position requires a high degree of consistent dedication, flexibility, accuracy, sound judgement and reliability.

This position is located in Salt Lake City, Utah. Current shift available.

1st Shift 6AM- 4:30PM Monday-Thursday

Primary Responsibilities:
• Set up and operate CMM to make complex, precise measurements of materials and parts

• Maintain sensitive metrology equipment to insure performance of the devices

• Utilize advanced metrology equipment to control processes and solve problems

• Support manufacturing team equipment and process capability analysis

• Execute product and process validation / inspection plans

• Assist in performing and teaching all processes and assignments within the department, with the ability to fill in as needed

• Identify and contain suspect defective material

• Inspect, test or measure components, products and materials being produced. Report inspection and test data

• Summarizes results and communicates them to engineering and others as needed

• Continually work to control and improve manufacturing processes performance

• Responsible to participate in quality related continuous improvement (Kaizen) projects

• Develop, maintain, and improve the quality culture within responsible area

• Perform other duties as needed

Job Qualifications (Education/Skills/Experience):

• 5 + year of CMM, Romer Arm or other type of Metrology Equipment operations

• Program and run Romer (PC-DMIS) & (Verisurf)

• Manufacturing, assembly, quality, or testing experience

• Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)

• 5+ years of high-volume manufacturing or quality experience (or)

• A combination of education and experience

• Problem solving experience

• Computer skills: Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, email – ability to manage files and records effectively

• Good communication skills and able to work/interact with manufacturing

• Good written skills and capable of generating shift Pass downs for next shift Techs

• Optical comparator, micrometers, indicators, calipers and height gage experience
