A contracted opportunity is available for a Pharmacist to provide specialized outpatient infusion services supporting a cancer center located in Ithaca, NY. This role focuses on delivering expert pharmaceutical care in oncology, requiring strong skills in sterile compounding and medication oversight. The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with an immediate start and a contract duration of 13 weeks or longer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform sterile compounding of chemotherapy and other oncology medications
- Oversee the preparation and dispensing of oncology pharmaceuticals with strict adherence to safety standards
- Collaborate closely with healthcare providers, nurses, and patients to ensure optimal therapeutic outcomes
- Provide medication consultation and guidance related to cancer treatment regimens
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid New York State pharmacist license is required
- Experience with chemotherapy preparation and handling preferred
- Strong knowledge of oncologic pharmacotherapy and infusion protocols
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with multidisciplinary teams and patients
