Utilizing the nursing process, you will deliver exceptional patient care while maintaining professional accountability for the patients assigned to you. You will assess the overall effectiveness of care provided by other caregivers and coordinate patient care in collaboration with various departments. Upholding patient rights and ensuring the confidentiality of patient information are essential aspects of this role. Department/Position: RN PACU
Status: Full Time (36 hours per week)
Shift: Days (6 AM - 6 PM)
*Recent PACU or ICU experience within the last 2 years is required.

Unit Overview:
The Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) and Post-Anesthesia Care Units (PACU) provide services across various surgical specialties within a hospital-based facility and outpatient surgery center. Our dynamic unit is dedicated to caring for patients throughout the peri-operative process, characterized by strong teamwork and commitment.
We cater to a diverse patient population, involving both inpatient and outpatient procedures, which offers numerous educational opportunities for our staff. Our collaborative environment actively engages in process improvements aimed at enhancing the experience for patients, colleagues, and the community.
In the ASC/PACU, we foster excellent teamwork in a varied setting. The opportunity to float between two facilities enhances our skills in peri-operative care. We adopt a multi-disciplinary approach to patient care and procedures, while our scheduling promotes a healthy work-life balance.
Qualifications:

Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited registered nursing program.

Licensure: Responsible for obtaining and maintaining a current RN license in the state of employment, adhering to all state board of nursing requirements.

Experience: Recent PACU or ICU experience within the last 2 years is mandatory.

Physical Requirements: The role necessitates the ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds regularly. Prolonged standing and walking are required during each shift, along with the capacity to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed.

Certifications:

BLS (Basic Life Support) certification or successful completion of the course within 30 days of hire.

Additional unit-specific certifications as required, to be obtained within the designated timeframe.
