SUMMARY

As a Business Intelligence Analyst, this team member will play a crucial role in driving data-driven decision-making for the entire resort. This position will be responsible for gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data to provide actionable insights that enhance operational efficiency, optimize revenue generation, and improve overall customer experience. This individual will coordinate with teams throughout the organization and external agencies to collect and retrieve data required for research projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develops and writes queries and reports in programs like SQL and Excel.
  • Produces reports for senior management.
  • Build business intelligence, reports and dashboards using software like Microsoft Excel/VBA, Tableau, Python, R, or SAS Visual Analytics.
  • Utilize Python and R to automate routine analytical tasks, enhance database interrogation techniques, and develop predictive models to forecast trends.
  • Collaborate with IT and data management teams to integrate disparate databases, ensuring a unified data ecosystem that supports holistic resort decision-making.
  • Support strategic decision-making by providing data-driven insights and recommendations, leveraging advanced analytics to identify opportunities for revenue optimization and efficiency improvements.
  • Generate reports that analyze customers, competition, the industry, and marketing activities using charts, graphs, explanatory text, and previously developed ROI formats.
  • Analyze user behavior, game performance, and trends to inform game design, user acquisition, user retention, and monetization strategies.
  • Maintains database files on all aspects and activities of direct mail marketing programs that enhance guest loyalty, supporting strategic and tactical objectives that drive repeat business, expand brand recognition, build volume, and increase revenue.
  • Identify gaps in reporting and business intelligence capabilities needed by divisions/departments and work on long-term solutions to meet these needs.
  • Create reports and analyze data for departments that do not have analytics support.
  • Develops high level analysis reporting and review of marketing data in order to ensure the marketing strategy and business plan is performing as expected.
  • Analyzes and reports on redemptions, player enrollments, tracked play, ADT, time on device, action and any other information requested.
  • Translating complex ideas into simple and clear articulations, both written (e.g. PowerPoint), and verbally (e.g. presenting to leadership, leading meetings).
  • Handles multiple projects and timelines effectively and communicates risks and issues to manager regularly.
  • Assist with implementation/review of data quality improvement processes and initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable gaming laws and company internal controls, policies and procedures, anti-money laundering (AML), and federal regulations, as they apply to the position.
  • Responsible for maintaining the highest degree of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficiency in Python and R for data analysis and modeling is essential, alongside advanced knowledge of Business Objects, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, and Microsoft Applications.
  • Experience with Casino player tracking and accounting systems (IGT, Aristocrat, Bally’s, etc.) preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills, with experience in predictive analytics and machine learning techniques, preferred.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, and staff. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations. Effective interpersonal skills required.

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in data science, Advanced Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field with coursework in data analysis using Python and R. Two years of experience in the casino gaming industry or five years in analytics and reporting preferred.
  • Two Years+ of statistical analysis of data analysis experience.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Proficiency in advanced mathematical and statistical analysis is essential, including a thorough understanding and application of complex concepts such as probability, statistical inference, and predictive modeling. The candidate must possess in-depth knowledge of industry-specific metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), understanding their impact on and correlation with business success. Furthermore, the role demands a high level of proficiency in interpreting diverse forms of instructions, whether written, verbal, or diagrammatic. The ability to convey sophisticated statistical findings and mathematical principles in a clear, actionable manner to stakeholders at all levels is paramount, ensuring that insights drive informed decision-making and strategic planning.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply commonsense reasoning to a variety of situations and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form and deals with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to maintain visual attention and mental concentration needed to perform assigned duties in highly disruptive conditions. Must be detail orientated and possess organizational skills.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. When on the casino floor, the noise level may increase from low to high. The casino floor is a smoking environment, and the Employee must be able to tolerate tobacco smoke.
