The Medical Assistant role at our interventional pain management clinic involves providing essential support to healthcare professionals by handling patient intake, performing vital signs measurement, managing medical records, and assisting with minor medical procedures. This position requires effective communication with patients and coworkers within a small team environment and offers exposure to a patient volume typically ranging from 20 to over 40 daily.
Responsibilities
- Conduct patient intake and record vital signs accurately
- Manage and maintain medical records and documentation
- Administer medications as directed by medical staff
- Assist with minor specialized medical procedures in the clinic
- Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures and answer questions
- Support billing and coding processes for patient services
- Collaborate as part of a small healthcare team
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years experience in medical assisting
- High school diploma or equivalent
- CPR certification
- Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Strong patient care skills
- Understanding of HIPAA compliance requirements
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities
- Good time management skills
