We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced User Experience Lead to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). This role blends a strong background in end-user support and systems administration with a passion for delivering outstanding user experiences across enterprise systems. The ideal candidate will serve as a technical liaison and UX champion, guiding the design, implementation, and support of user-centric solutions in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.

As the UX Lead, you’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal user interaction with systems, tools, and technologies. You'll troubleshoot complex technical issues, ensure system integrity, and provide technical leadership in user experience design and desktop service support.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for end-user experience initiatives, driving usability, accessibility, and overall satisfaction across platforms and tools.

  • Lead user-centric support efforts including desktop, virtual desktop, and enterprise software troubleshooting and optimization.

  • Manage user feedback channels, analyze support data, and make recommendations to improve the customer experience.

  • Oversee and execute the installation and configuration of end-user workstation hardware, software, and peripherals.

  • Troubleshoot user issues related to OS, software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, browsers, email clients), and network-related problems.

  • Apply patches and security updates in alignment with STIGs and other DoD cybersecurity standards.

  • Facilitate user account management, access controls, and compliance with security policies.

  • Support the deployment and lifecycle management of peripheral devices, including printers, modems, and scanners.

  • Coordinate with system administrators and cybersecurity teams to ensure alignment with broader IT infrastructure and policy.

  • Contribute to planning, configuration, and troubleshooting of systems such as Microsoft Hyper-V, Windows Server, and client OS across secured environments.

  • Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to create a seamless, intuitive IT experience for end users.

Required Skills:

  • Demonstrated experience leading UX or desktop support initiatives in a DoD or high-security environment.

  • Strong background in installing, configuring, and maintaining end-user systems and applications.

  • Expertise in resolving user-facing issues and optimizing user interactions with software and systems.

  • Proficiency in applying system patches, security updates, and configuration changes per STIGs and vendor best practices.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft technologies and tools, such as WSUS, SCDPM, SCOM, etc.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on user satisfaction and continuous improvement.

Required Certification and Clearance:

  • Active Secret Clearance, with an investigation close date no older than 5.5 years at the time of application.

  • DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE) is required and must be maintained.
