About the Role
In this urgent care Nurse Practitioner position, you will be the sole Provider on shift, managing a wide variety of acute and minor illnesses and injuries. You will make autonomous clinical decisions while working within clear protocols and supported by an experienced medical and administrative team.
- Independently assess, diagnose, and treat patients in an urgent care setting.
- Use evidence-based practice and clinical guidelines to ensure safe, consistent, high-quality care.
- Maintain an organized, efficient flow while providing compassionate, patient-centered service.
- Collaborate with nursing and support staff to deliver timely, coordinated care.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient evaluations, including history, physical exams, and ordering/interpreting diagnostic tests.
- Diagnose and manage urgent and non-emergent conditions commonly seen in urgent care.
- Prescribe medications and develop treatment plans in accordance with state and clinic guidelines.
- Document visits accurately and efficiently in the electronic medical record.
- Communicate clearly with patients and families about diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up needs.
- Maintain professionalism, empathy, and calm under pressure while managing multiple priorities.
Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted Family Nurse Practitioner license and appropriate certification in the state of Indiana.
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in urgent care, emergency medicine, or primary care preferred
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills with the confidence to work independently.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable working as the only Provider on site with support staff available.
- Commitment to patient satisfaction, safety, and high-quality evidence-based care.
Schedule:
- Work three 12-hour shifts per week.
