Job DescriptionDescriptionThis position is ideal for dental and pre-dental students to join the Global Clinical Affairs team as a Clinical Affairs Intern, with opportunities to work on clinical-based research for Align Technology, Inc. (the makers of Invisalign® aligners). This internship will take place 5 days onsite at Align Technology’s office in San Jose, CA. The position is for a full-time role, for a minimum of 10 weeks during the summer (June-August 2026).
Role expectations

  • Learn about Align as a company as well as clinical research and regulatory guidelines
  • Support the Clinical Data Management team on various project tasks such as data cleaning, server folder organization, taking meeting minutes, working with study data, etc.
  • Support the Clinical Development team with various tasks such as performing literature reviews, assisting in clinical evaluation plans and reports, working in the dental clinic, etc.
  • Support the Clinical Research Operations team with various tasks such as putting together study-related binders, reviewing study documentation for grammatical, formatting and spelling errors, creating data collection trackers and charts, updating any necessary templates, etc.
  • Assist with documentation and organization of various programs and projects
  • Assist with development of presentation materials including handouts, posters, graphs, and PowerPoint presentations
  • Present at the end of your employment with Align regarding your intern program participation
  • Follow all departmental and company procedures as indicated in quality, administrative, or other systems
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources


What we're looking for

  • Education: Current pre-doctoral graduate, dental student, or dental post-graduate with a dental degree
  • Skills: Willingness to be flexible for different tasks in a fast-paced research environment, regard for patient privacy essential, organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks in order to meet deadlines, strong attention to detail and ability to ask clarifying questions,
  • Communication: Good oral and written communication skills, professionalism in interacting with practitioners and academicians
  • Teamwork: Ability to work independently with only general supervision as well as cross-functionally


Complementary skills

  • Competency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and OneDrive preferred
