Horizon Surgery Center Beaches, located on the Baptist Medical Center campus, is a physician-led ambulatory surgery center focused on high-quality, patient-centered outpatient care. We have three active operating rooms at this center. In partnership with Compass Surgical Partners, we combine the strengths of a local clinical team with national operational support—creating a culture where patients and staff thrive.
Role Summary:
The Charge Nurse provides clinical leadership on the unit, coordinating patient care, supervising nursing staff, and ensuring efficient operations. This role serves as a resource for the team, promotes patient safety, and supports quality care delivery.
Hours:
• Monday –Friday schedule
• No nights, weekends, holidays, or call
What You’ll Do:

Oversee daily unit operations, ensuring smooth patient flow and optimal staffing coverage

Assign patient care responsibilities to nursing staff and monitor workload distribution

Provide direct patient care as needed, including assessment, interventions, and documentation

Serve as a resource and mentor for staff, supporting professional development and education

Collaborate with physicians, allied health professionals, and other departments to coordinate patient care

Monitor adherence to policies, procedures, and safety standards

Support patient safety, risk-management, and quality-improvement initiatives

Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members to ensure continuity of care

Participate in staff meetings, committees, and performance improvement activities
What You’ll Bring:
-
Associate’s degree or bachelors of science in nursing
-
Current RN license
-
BLS and ACLS certifications required
-
Leadership or prior charge nurse experience preferred
-
Strong clinical judgment, organizational skills, and communication abilities
-
Ability to lead a team, mentor staff, and manage conflict effectively
-
Strong teamwork, organization, and communication skills
-
Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs routinely and up to 100 lbs occasionally
-
Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Windows environment)
