Job Title: Educational Mental Health Group Specialist
Location: In-person, Madisonville, OH
Job Type: Full-Time
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or a related mental health field from an accredited institution.
- Licensed Social Worker (LSW) or Licensed Clinical Counselor (LPC) preferred
- Prior leadership or experience in child-serving mental health systems.
- TFM Certified Practitioner strongly preferred; willingness to obtain required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic Windows applications.
Job Summary:
The Education Mental Health Group Specialist supports students aged 3-8 with emotional and behavioral needs by implementing individualized treatment plans and structured teaching methods in a therapeutic classroom environment. This role integrates with the Teaching Family Model (TFM) to foster social-emotional growth, academic engagement, and behavioral stability. The specialist leads group interventions, collaborates with multidisciplinary teams, and ensures a safe, supportive, and well-documented learning space aligned with each student's goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Instruction & Behavior Support: Deliver structured teaching in individual, small group, and whole-class formats; implement behavior support plans and motivation systems; support social-emotional development and crisis intervention.
- Treatment & Intervention Planning: Assist in developing, implementing, and monitoring individualized treatment and behavior support plans; facilitate therapeutic groups and track student progress.
- Student & Family Engagement: Build positive student relationships; communicate regularly with families; model appropriate behaviors and promote self-regulation, social skills, and independence.
- Collaboration & Teamwork: Work closely with education and clinical staff; participate in team meetings, student reviews, and cross-agency planning to ensure comprehensive care.
- Compliance & Documentation: Maintain accurate records, daily documentation, attendance, and data tracking; report incidents promptly and contribute to IEPs, FBAs, and BSPs.
- Professional Development: Complete all required training, maintain TFM certification, and apply feedback for continuous growth.
- Classroom & Administrative Support: Support daily classroom structure, contribute to lesson planning, and perform clerical tasks that enhance academic and behavioral programming.
Compensation & Benefits:
- $18.00 to $20.50 an hour

Work Environment:
Exposed to a combination of office, school, and mental health treatment environments. Exposed to children with behavior problems. May be exposed to shouting and clients who may be verbally and physically aggressive.
