Job DescriptionA dynamic non-profit organization in Providence, RI is seeking a passionate and experienced Assistant Director (Non-Profit) to provide leadership and strategic direction for youth development and juvenile justice programs.

This pivotal role offers the opportunity to empower at-risk youth, promote social equity, and strengthen community partnerships to achieve lasting positive outcomes.

Compensation:

  • $47,000 - $52,000 / year

Responsibilities of the Assistant Director (Non-Profit):

  • Provide strategic leadership for the implementation and growth of youth empowerment and juvenile justice programs, ensuring alignment with the organization's mission and funding goals.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop program staff, interns, and volunteers, fostering a high-performing and mission-driven team.
  • Cultivate and maintain strategic partnerships with schools, community organizations, and justice system stakeholders to enhance diversion and support services for youth.
  • Lead outreach efforts, youth recruitment campaigns, and DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) training initiatives to broaden the organization's reach and impact.
  • Advocate for youth-focused policies and represent the organization effectively in community forums and policy discussions.
  • Oversee program budgets, ensuring compliance with grant requirements and actively supporting grant writing, reporting, and fundraising activities.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership on strategic planning, financial oversight, and human resource initiatives, including hiring and staff development.
  • Champion mentorship, leadership development, and restorative justice initiatives for participating youth, fostering positive growth and empowerment.


Qualifications of the Assistant Director (Non-Profit):

  • A minimum of three years' proven experience leading youth programs, juvenile justice initiatives, or non-profit projects, demonstrating a track record of positive impact.
  • Exceptional leadership, supervision, and team-building skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated success in managing budgets, writing grants, and evaluating program performance to ensure accountability and sustainability.
  • A deep and unwavering commitment to youth advocacy, social justice, and racial equity.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Criminal Justice, Non-Profit Management, or a related field required.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is highly valued.
