Job Summary and Qualifications
As a Registered Nurse, your primary responsibility will be to provide exceptional, patient-focused care in accordance with departmental requirements and state-specific practice standards. You will collaborate with healthcare providers and the care team to deliver individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care, adhering to established nursing frameworks such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage." Additionally, you will serve as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, embodying our organization's vision, mission, and values to ensure an outstanding patient experience and favorable clinical outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate the patient's condition upon admission and during each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in status.
- Carry out procedures, monitoring, or other tasks as directed by medical providers, ensuring accurate and timely documentation of care in the patient's medical record.
- Administer prescribed medications, monitor patient responses, and take appropriate actions in case of any adverse reactions.
- Deliver exceptional care by promptly addressing patient requests, anticipating needs, and resolving issues proactively.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, potential side effects, and follow-up care, ensuring clarity by simplifying complex medical terminology.
About the Clinical Decision Unit:
- The Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) is a specialized 12-bed short-stay unit designed for observation patients.
- Patients will be monitored in the CDU post-operatively or when further medical evaluation is required to determine the treatment plan.
- The unit comprises Patient Care Technicians, Registered Nurses, Clinical Nurse Coordinators, and a Manager.
Qualifications Required:
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 90 days of starting employment.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment.
- Registered Nurse (RN) license must be obtained within 90 days of starting employment.
- An Associate Degree is required.
