Travel: Local project and client visits required (50%+ field time) - NO OVERNIGHT TRAVEL
About the Opportunity
A growing commercial contractor in the Charlotte market is expanding their New Construction division and is seeking a strong Project Manager or Project Executive–level leader. This hire will step into an active backlog, support newly awarded work, and play a key role in client management and project delivery.
This role is ideal for someone who is polished, relationship-focused, and experienced managing large commercial projects in the paint or drywall sectors.
What You’ll Do

Oversee new construction projects from award through closeout

Regularly meet with clients, visit active jobsites, and maintain strong customer relationships

Lead negotiations on change orders and resolve A/B-level project issues

Collaborate with internal APMs/PMs, who handle much of the internal operational workload

Ensure project schedules, budget goals, and quality standards are met

Represent the company professionally with owners, GCs, and project partners
What We’re Looking For

Experience in commercial painting or drywall project management

Strong communicator with a customer-first mindset

Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize field presence

Capable of owning relationship management more than pure back-office operations

Driven, polished, and comfortable handling client-facing responsibilities
