This role offers exposure to a wide range of patient conditions—including Med-Surg, Sickle Cell, and heart failure—allowing you to strengthen your PCU skillset, work with advanced equipment, and experience different approaches to leadership and patient care. Schedule:

  • Self-scheduling available
  • Every other weekend required
  • Holiday shifts as needed
  • No call or float obligations

Qualifications:

  • Valid RN license with minimum 2 years of stepdown/PCU experience in similar-sized hospitals
  • Successful completion of at least one prior travel contract
  • BLS certification required
  • Solid telemetry background; able to titrate PCU drips under set rates
  • Experience with Med-Surg, Stepdown, and heart failure cases
  • Must be comfortable pulling labs (no phlebotomy staff)

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality care to diverse Med-Surg and Stepdown patients (1:4-5 ratio)
  • Collaborate with charge nurses and nurse aides in a team-oriented setting
  • Utilize nasal, face masks, and BiPAP as needed for respiratory support
  • Adhere to established care protocols and documentation standards
  • Participate in a comprehensive orientation, including skills assessment and preceptorship
