Job Summary


The Sales Manager at Arts Alley is a visionary leader dedicated to building community connections and creating innovative programs that elevate the Arts Alley experience. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of on and off-site events, from selling and planning to executing each account with precision and flair. Collaborating closely with the Regional Director of Sales and the Food and Beverage Manager. The Manager plays a pivotal role in fostering community involvement and designing events that resonate with the local culture and creativity.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Deliver professional and courteous guest service at all times.

-Develop programs and events for Arts Alley, such as Movie nights and pasta-making classes.

- Solicit new accounts to meet/exceed revenue goals through telephone solicitation, outside sales calls, networking, and written communication.

- Prepare correspondence to customers, internal booking reports, and file maintenance.

- Possess detailed knowledge of the event space menus and services.

- Greet clients and ensure events meet expectations.

- Meet with clients to design and create one-of-a-kind events utilizing event rooms and catering services.

- Develop floor plans, rentals, menus, and beverage packages with clients.

- Develop innovative sales and marketing techniques.

- Plan, supervise, and coordinate all catered functions to ensure all contractual obligations are met.

- Maintain a current filing system and prepare reports (Sales Call Reports, Internal Sales Reports, etc.).

- Communicate in writing with the Catering Team and client regarding any and all final menus, including the number of attendees, choice of beverages, client budget, invoice, event set-up, etc.

- Audit sales files to ensure all contracts and deposits are received on time.

- Ensure signed contracts are filed, and billing information is up-to-date prior to the event date.

- Be available for a pre-event meeting prior to all events (in person or via phone).

- Contact in-house guests, group leaders, and meeting planners to promote goodwill and garner additional business.

- Ensure the client’s expectations are exceeded before leaving for the day (onsite and off-site).

- Place follow-up calls and send evaluation letters to all groups at the completion of the event.

- Maintain a network with local civic groups and associations, wedding planners, and venues in order to obtain referrals.

- Collaborate with the sales team to promote follow-up on sales bookings.

- Ability to work well with a diverse group of people.


Additional Duties

- Attend weekly BEO meetings with Chef, GM, and sales team to discuss, in detail, weekly events.

- Act as Manager On Duty when scheduled.

- Complete projects and attend events as determined by the Regional Director of Sales.

- Assist with event execution when needed.

- Actively seek out other tasks when current work is complete.

- Participate in ongoing education and training.

- Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:



Minimum Qualifications

? Education or Experience- associate’s degree (A.A.) in a business-related field; one to two years related hospitality sales experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have a basic knowledge of Delphi, Excel, Word, and Publisher.

? Valid Driver’s License – Must be able to travel to and from function sites. Must have a valid NH driver’s license and a favorable driving record to operate the company vehicle.

? Language Skills- Must have developed language skills to the point of being able to: read, analyze, and interpret general business and sales documents, and financial reports. Write business letters, correspondence, summaries, and reports using the prescribed format, and conforming to all rules of punctuation, grammar, diction, and style. Actively participates in discussions. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, clients, customers, and the general public.

? Mathematical Skills- Requires mathematical development sufficient to be able to: compute discount, interest, profit and loss, commission, markups and selling price, and percentages. Demonstrates accuracy and attention to detail. Possess strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

? Reasoning Ability- Must have developed reasoning skills to be able to: positively identify problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and provide a viable solution. Thoroughly understand principles of service and/or product being sold. Ability to positively persuade and influence others to select your product and service. Determine or interpret work procedures for a team, assigning specific duties and encouraging cooperative teamwork while promoting efficiency.

Physical Requirements

· Ability to pass pre-employment drug test, background check, and driver record check

· Requires sitting, walking, and standing to a significant degree, reaching, handling, talking, hearing, and seeing

· Frequently requires evening/weekend hours and will require 50-55+ hours/week

· Lifting up to 25 lbs. maximum with infrequent lifting and/or carrying or transporting of objects weighing up to 10 lbs.

· Minimal local travel is required for off-site events

· Outside environmental conditions such as wind, rain, cold, snow, extreme heat, etc.

· Inside environmental conditions are protected from weather conditions. Exposure to extremes of exterior temperature changes and noise:

- Temperature Changes: Variations in temperature, which are sufficiently high or low to cause marked bodily discomfort, including exterior cold, heat, humid, and wet conditions

- Noise: Sufficient noise, such as music, either constant or intermittent, to cause marked distraction or possible injury to the sense of hearing if endured day after day
