Job title: Mechanical Drafter

Manager notes
- The manager is looking for someone with 5-8 years of CREO 7 (or higher) experience along with Windchill experience to work in this role.
- The typical workday will recover change notices from lead designers and work multiple projects.
- Once granted access into Windchill it will determine the typical workday.
Summary:
Prepare detailed working diagrams of machinery and mechanical devices, including dimensions, fastening methods, and other engineering information. Typically has a high school diploma or GED. Possesses technical skills, including the knowledge of design techniques and blueprint reading.
Education/Experience
- High school diploma or GED required
- 8-10 years’ experience required

- Strong knowledge of relevant computer application, such as CADD (Computer Aided Design and Drafting)
Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review and approve detailed design drawings and specifications for mechanical equipment, dies, tools, and controls, using computer-assisted drafting (CAD) equipment.
- Instruct staff to design, lay out, or detail components and systems and to resolve design or other problems.
- Review and approve mathematical formulas to develop and design detailed specifications for components or machinery using computer-assisted equipment.
- Review and approve dimensions of materials to be used and assign numbers to the materials.
- Approve schematic, orthographic, or angle views to depict functional relationships of components, assemblies, systems, and machines Modify and revise designs to correct operating deficiencies or to reduce production problems
- Review and analyze specifications, sketches, drawings, ideas, and related data to assess factors affecting component designs and the procedures and instructions to be followed o Act as subject matter expert to clients and review schematics and answer questions pertaining to installation of systems.
- Must have minimum 5-8yrs CREO 7 (or higher) Schematic/Cabling experience.
- Windchill experience is also required.
