Unit Profile & Key Responsibilities
- Unit Capacity: 28-bed dedicated cardiovascular recovery and intensive care unit.
- Patient Population: Open-heart surgery recovery, heart transplants, acute cardiology, advanced heart failure, and complex structural/interventional heart procedures.
- Core Duties: Assess, plan, and evaluate high-acuity care pathways; manage invasive lines and execute precise hemodynamic tracking; partner tightly with interdisciplinary teams and patient families.
Required Skills & Experience (Must Haves)
- Clinical Expertise: Strong proficiency in immediate post-op recovery of open hearts and cardiac anomalies.
- Device Fluency: Hands-on experience or competency managing ECMO, Impellas, IABPs, C-Mag, and temporary/permanent VADs.
- Advanced Skills: Management of continuous dialysis/ultrafiltration machines, arterial lines, complex vasoactive infusions, and critical drip titrations.
- Licensure & Certifications: Active Ohio RN License (or multi-state Compact) with unexpired AHA BLS and ACLS.
- Minimum Education: Diploma of Nursing or ASN required.
