Title: Controls Engineer
Location: Birmingham, AL (up to 40% travel)
Salary: $90,000-$120,000
We are a small organization that works in a collaborative environment. We have clients across North America and most of our work is done in the Southeast US. We have been in business since the late 90's and have over 50 employees.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop control systems for manufacturing processes.
- Program and configure PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and HMIs (Human Machine Interfaces).
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with control systems and automation equipment.
- Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineers to ensure seamless integration of control systems.
- Perform system testing and validation to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Maintain documentation for control systems, including schematics, software, and operation manuals.
- Stay updated with the latest industry technologies and standards to improve system performance.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Controls Engineer or similar role in automation and control systems.
- Strong knowledge of PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Fanuc, Siemens, Mitsubishi, OR ABB) and HMI software (FactoryTalk, Wonderware).
- Familiarity with SCADA systems and Ladder Logic programming.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively.
