Summary:

\n

Provides cradle-to-grave machining process development for R&D projects.

\n


\n

Pay Range: $40-50/hour

\n


\n

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

\n

    \n
  • Develop roadmap for prototyping department
  • \n

  • Collaborate with Engineering on quoting R&D/Development jobs, provide feedback on manufacturing feasibility
  • \n

  • Communicate time estimates and work progress to R&D project stakeholders
  • \n

  • Deliver and prove out comprehensive programming, setup, and machining of R&D and production parts using 5 axis Matsuura, Haas UMC and Haas VF mills
  • \n

  • Produce supporting job documentation to ensure processes can be repeated by operators
  • \n

  • Design and manufacture fixtures for process repeatability
  • \n

  • Produce Renishaw Probe routines to help maximize productivity and automate quality efforts
  • \n

  • Regularly communicate with QC personnel to promote metrology skills between departments
  • \n

  • Write CMM inspection programs for R&D/Development jobs
  • \n

  • Adjust machining strategies to optimize production while maintaining quality
  • \n

  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems with machines and machine processes as they arise
  • \n

  • Operate CNCs for production work to help meet ramps in demand
  • \n

Supervisory Responsibilities:

\n

Not currently. But as the programming/prototyping grows, this position will have direct reports

\n


\n

Education and/or Experience:

\n

A minimum of 4-6 years programming with Mastercam

\n

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school

\n

A minimum of 4 years of working experience in manufacturing or engineering technicians; or a minimum of 6 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

\n


\n

Language Skills:

\n

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to read and understand component technical manuals.

\n


\n

Mathematical Skills:

\n

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

\n


\n

Computer Skills:

\n

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet software, Manufacturing software, Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

\n

CAD/CAM Programming

Other Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science in engineering is a plus

ISO 9001/AS 9100 QMS system

Lean manufacturing system, Root cause analyses, Process control methodology
