Job DescriptionMinimum 1+ years intrepreter experience required.

A dynamic educational environment is seeking skilled professionals to provide Sign Language interpretation for students in a K-12 setting. This role is crucial in facilitating effective communication and ensuring that Deaf and hard-of-hearing students have access to the curriculum and educational activities.

Qualifications:

  • Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (e.g., RID, NIC)
  • Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Experience interpreting in educational settings, particularly with K-12 students
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other educational staff
  • Knowledge of educational policies and procedures regarding Deaf students

Olathe, KS

Responsibilities:

  • Provide interpretation services for Deaf and hard-of-hearing students in classroom settings
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to support students educational goals
  • Facilitate access to information and resources through effective communication
  • Attend staff meetings and participate in professional development opportunities
  • Maintain accurate records of interpretation services provided
  • Support students during transitions and extracurricular activities as needed
