Job DescriptionElectrical Technician II
Function
Electrical Technician II is responsible for maintaining all Hanes Dye and Finishing, Geo Components, and facility equipment across all operations. Troubleshooting advanced electrical issues, quickly determine the problem, and perform repairs to the facility and machinery. Train new maintenance personnel, explain procedures, and maintain a high-quality standard through good preventative maintenance practices.
Duties

  • Respond promptly to calls with a sense of urgency to prevent downtime.
  • Install, program, and maintain commercial electrical components such as PLCs, drives, breakers, sensors, motors, contacts, and control boards as needed.
  • Proficient interpreting and reading electrical schematics, following wiring diagrams, and manuals.
  • Install conduit systems, pull wire, install panel boards, inverters, motor controls, and terminate.
  • Inspect and troubleshoot industrial electrical systems, equipment, identify hazards, defects, and perform the necessary adjustments or repairs.
  • Advanced knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, ladder logic with minor coding changes, and related controls. Also create and store backups of programs for the facility.
  • Experience installing VFDs, servos, camera/vision systems and other machine control devices.
  • Understanding of boilers, steam handling, natural gas, and HVAC systems.
  • Perform Lock-out Tag-out as needed and wear proper PPE.
  • Must be able to multi-task in a high paced manufacturing environment.
  • General housekeeping, safe work practices, and arc flash safety.
  • Assist with projects, commissioning new and used machinery, and completing PMs.
  • Perform other tasks that may be assigned by manager.

Hours of Work

  • 1st Shift – 7a-3p 2nd Shift – 3p-11p

(May vary due to production requirements)
Requirements

  • Must be a team player, and willing to assist in other areas when necessary.
  • Pneumatic and Hydraulic experience required.
  • Machine maintenance experience required.
  • Advanced electrical expertise required.
  • Facilities maintenance experience required.
  • HVAC experience preferred.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Associates Degree in Electronic Engineering/related field or Electrical License required.
