Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years Tele RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Provide specialized nursing care for stroke and neuro patients on a dedicated stepdown unit in a 21-bed acute care environment. This role requires a minimum of two years RN experience, stroke certification, and the ability to manage complex patient conditions with expertise and compassion. You will collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care while utilizing advanced clinical skills and critical thinking.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
- Administer medications safely and effectively following clinical protocols.
- Serve as the primary contact for coordinating patient care across departments.
- Advocate for patient safety and participate actively in quality improvement initiatives.
- Manage patients with multi-system organ failure and neuro-related conditions.
- Utilize evidence-based practice and clinical judgment to respond to rapidly changing patient needs.
- Support patients and families coping with acute illness, collaborating with palliative and spiritual care as needed.
- Participate in orientation exam for dysrhythmia competency; ongoing professional development supported.
Desired Qualifications:
- Current RN license in compact state or state of practice.
- Minimum 2 years RN experience; neuro or stroke unit experience preferred.
- Stroke certification required; ACLS and BLS certifications mandatory.
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred.
- Familiarity with hemodynamic monitoring, heparin gtts, and managing neuro patient safety protocols.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced clinical setting.
Schedule & Location:
- 12-hour evening shifts (PM), every other weekend and holiday rotation.
- Location requires travel candidates; local applicants within 50 miles are not accepted.
