Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years Tele RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Provide specialized nursing care for stroke and neuro patients on a dedicated stepdown unit in a 21-bed acute care environment. This role requires a minimum of two years RN experience, stroke certification, and the ability to manage complex patient conditions with expertise and compassion. You will collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care while utilizing advanced clinical skills and critical thinking.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
  • Administer medications safely and effectively following clinical protocols.
  • Serve as the primary contact for coordinating patient care across departments.
  • Advocate for patient safety and participate actively in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Manage patients with multi-system organ failure and neuro-related conditions.
  • Utilize evidence-based practice and clinical judgment to respond to rapidly changing patient needs.
  • Support patients and families coping with acute illness, collaborating with palliative and spiritual care as needed.
  • Participate in orientation exam for dysrhythmia competency; ongoing professional development supported.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Current RN license in compact state or state of practice.
  • Minimum 2 years RN experience; neuro or stroke unit experience preferred.
  • Stroke certification required; ACLS and BLS certifications mandatory.
  • Previous travel nursing experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with hemodynamic monitoring, heparin gtts, and managing neuro patient safety protocols.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Schedule & Location:

  • 12-hour evening shifts (PM), every other weekend and holiday rotation.
  • Location requires travel candidates; local applicants within 50 miles are not accepted.
