Position Details

Position Overview

This role involves leading and coordinating unit staffing while ensuring the execution of clinical goals and delivering high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct, educate, and supervise nursing and support staff during assigned shifts, contributing to performance evaluations.
  • Assess daily patient care requirements and allocate patient care assignments, ensuring appropriate care is provided.
  • Collaborate with advanced practice providers to achieve quality outcomes.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of patient care and identify issues impacting desired outcomes.
  • Address patient care complaints through established protocols.
  • Provide input on hiring, training, directing, developing, and evaluating staff.
  • Maintain a constant state of alertness and safety.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Education: Graduate from an accredited nursing program or equivalent educational background for licensing.
  • Experience: Minimum of one year as a registered nurse.

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly communicate verbally to share information.
  • Frequent standing and walking.
  • Occasional lifting and carrying of objects weighing between 25-50 lbs.
  • Frequent sitting, reaching, and data entry.
  • Regular use of vision for near and far distances, as well as color differentiation.
  • Frequent use of smell and hearing for communication and safety alerts.
  • Occasional patient handling and various physical movements.
  • Rarely involves crawling or running.

Licenses and Certifications Required

Depending on the state of work location, the following certifications are required:

  • Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Registered Nurse (RN) - State-specific licensing body
  • Advanced Life Support (ALS) - AHA, or equivalent pediatric/neonatal certifications.
