**If you want to get into the traveling Trades**
Trades Resource is seeking experienced Traveling Aerospace Quality Inspectors to support aerospace and defense manufacturing operations across the United States.
This role is ideal for inspectors who are comfortable stepping into active production environments and immediately supporting in-process, final, and first article inspections while ensuring full compliance with AS9100, NADCAP, and customer-specific requirements.
Assignments may range from short-term surge support to long-term production programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform in-process, first article (FAI), and final inspections of precision machined and fabricated aerospace components
- Interpret complex engineering drawings, GD&T, and specifications
- Conduct dimensional inspections using:

- CMM (PC-DMIS, Calypso, MCOSMOS, or similar)
- Height gauges, micrometers, calipers, bore gauges
- Optical comparators
- Surface finish testers
- Verify material certifications and traceability documentation
- Review and validate:

- Inspection reports
- Travelers and routers
- Nonconformance reports (NCRs)
- Support Root Cause & Corrective Action investigations
- Ensure compliance with:

- AS9100
- ISO 9001
- NADCAP (when applicable)
- Customer-specific aerospace requirements
- Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Manufacturing teams to resolve quality issues quickly
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of aerospace quality inspection experience
- Strong working knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
- Experience inspecting:

- Tight tolerance machined components
- Structural assemblies
- Precision metal parts (aluminum, titanium, Inconel, stainless)
- Ability to read blueprints and complex aerospace documentation
- Experience working in AS9100 environments
- Willingness to travel nationwide
- Strong documentation and reporting skills
Preferred Qualifications
- CMM programming experience
- Experience with:

- First Article Inspection per AS9102
- NADCAP processes (heat treat, welding, NDT, coatings)
- NDT certifications (PT, MT, UT, etc.)
- Aerospace OEM or Tier 1 supplier experience
- Experience supporting backlog reduction or program launches
